‘I wanted to express my feelings towards someone, but couldn’t face doing so directly.

I translated them into writing on my studio wall, and with their imminent arrival, defaced it.

Assuming a space between direct communication and a bottling up of emotions, it served as a relief of one without the heartache of the other.’
